NEIRB Review Boards
New England IRB is dedicated to a thorough review process with a focus on human subject protection. As an AAHRPP-accredited IRB, our Board members, staff and SOPs have met rigorous standards to ensure high quality. Please see our regulatory status for more information.
We have two review Boards that each meet weekly:

Protocol submissions are pre-reviewed by our regulatory staff for completeness before they are submitted to the Board. Once the Board reviews the study, all supporting documentation is sent through a multi-step quality assurance process. The New England IRB Administrator assigned to the study then provides this documentation to the sponsor or CRO via FastTrack™ (our secure web portal), or via e-mail, FedEx or fax. Sponsors and CROs can expect to receive this documentation within one week of receipt of the complete protocol submission.

Protocols submitted by Wednesday 12:00 noon (EST) are reviewed the following Tuesday. Protocols submitted by Friday 12:00 noon (EST) are reviewed the following Thursday. Results are conveyed the next day.
New England IRB’s site review process occurs within 24-48 hours’ receipt of a complete application. Site approval documentation is sent via overnight FedEx to the site with a copy sent to the sponsor or CRO (via FastTrack™ web portal, email or FedEx).
